7 "Rules" About A JUICE CLEANSE Meant To Be Broken

The best cleanse, diet, or program to plan is the one you will stick to and enjoy enough develop a lifestyle of healthy habits around.

Knowing that we all love a nice reset, it should not be torture, and in fact, torturing yourself through a juice cleanse is not good for anyone.

You've heard these rules, we have too, and we love to break them!

Rule 1 NO FOOD:
Not only is this difficult, but we recommend mixing some clean protein with salad or other greens. Some extra fiber will help the body detox through your cleanse.

Rule 2 NO CAFFEINE:
Generally, caffeine ranges from a stimulant to a metabolism booster and can be a spiritual ritual in your day. Unless you love cream or sugar in your coffee, it shouldn't be an issue if you sip some java while cleansing - keep it black. Herbal tea is an excellent substitute for our caffeine-sensitive people, and our re-root cleanse comes with Cross Roots functional tea.

Rule 3 NO SODIUM:
In the name of cleansing, you should not consume high sodium foods, but that doesn't mean you have to banish all salt. Our favorite juices contain some Himalayan pink sea salt to help balance electrolytes and provide you with trace minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and calcium!. Some ground pink salt in your water can aid in weight loss and help the detox process.

Rule 4 NO FRUIT:
Some cleanses call for no fruit juice or whole fruit. Fruit was not all created equal! We recommend sticking to the low-glycemic blends that we provide in our juice. If you want to snack on whole fruit, opt for cherries, green apples, or grapefruit.

Rule 5 NO FATS OR OILS:
Yes, you should avoid all fried foods and canola oil-based dressings. This rule should not mean all fats, however! Adding avocado or nuts to your salads with extra virgin olive oil or a little coconut/mct oil to your green juice taste tremendous and can cure hunger pangs.

Rule 6 JUICE COUNTS AS WATER INTAKE:
Yes, the vegetables and fruits in your juice contain water, but not a lot! We are huge fans of water and recommend drinking half of your body weight in oz to make sure you stay hydrated. A general rule is if your urine is clear or very light yellow, then you are good. If it's dark-colored, drink more water!

Rule 7 CLEANSES SHOULD CONTAIN NO FRUIT JUICE:
We believe that the more juices you can get in to help cleanse your system, the better. Do not think of it as a diet but enjoy our RE-ROOT cleanse as a new lifestyle.
